Almonds are really rich in nutrients. Besides fiber and proteins, almonds also contain manganese, vitamin E, magnesium and fair amount of vitamin B2 and copper. So a handful of them can be considered an ideal ten, which will give the body a bunch of healthy substances.

Although almonds are commonly found among nuts, in fact they are more of a seed.
They grow on almond trees. The homeland of wild almonds was probably North Africa or the Middle East. Today, however, the main producer is the state of California in the USA.
In Europe, you can find large plantations in Spain, which boasts a famous almond variety called Marcona.

Many people have them associated with decorating various desserts or as part of oatmeal, smoothie, etc. Surprisingly, however, chopped almonds or their slices can also be added in tea blends and that’s also delicious!

Can you eat raw almonds?

The answer is “Yes, you certainly can”. Almonds are healthy whether you eat them with their skin or without. It really depends only on your preferences.
The only thing you have to make sure is that you have the sweet almonds.
Since the bitter almond version contains high amount of hydrocyanic acid, their consumption can be fatal.
But don’t worry, when you shop for almonds in your local grocery / whole food store.
Due to their toxicity bitter almonds in raw form are prohibited in many countries, including U.S. and UK.

What are the side effect of almonds?

Whether you decide to add it to your salad, smoothie, or just eat it as a snack between the meals, keep in mind the high calories and fat content.
Whatever method you consume, follow the golden rule of moderation.
The safest amount is 5-7 almonds a day. It is enough for enjoying all the benefits almonds provide.
Too many almonds can lead to constipation or other stomach related issues, such as diarrhea, stomach cramps, due to high fiber content.
