What is Açaí

Açaí is a South American superfood. The only place where you can find these fruits freely is in the Brazilian rainforests. There, in the wetlands and swamps, grow an inconspicuous palm tree that bears this magical fruit.
The açaí fruits are about 1 inch (2.5 cm) in size and grow in clumps that need to be picked by hand to prevent crushing and subsequent deterioration.

Have you never heard of açaí before? No wonder. The Amazon Indians kept this treasure for themselves for many millennia. And they surely knew why. But now you don’t have to go to the swamps of the rainforests for these mysterious berries. Açaí will come to you and demonstrate its magical abilities.

There are different varieties, but probably the most effective are the dark purple berries, which hide a yellow flesh and a relatively large pit under a firm skin. The Amazon Indians mashed a paste from this fruit for easier consumption. At this time you can find açaí in our market in the form of juice, puree or dried powder.

What will undoubtedly enchant you, are not only the fantastic effects but also the great taste of the fruit. It’s like mixing chocolate with a handful of wild raspberries and blueberries. It is no wonder, that for some Brazilian tribes, açaí accounted for up to 40% of daily food intake.

Unlike many fruits that are high in sugar and low in fat, the açaí berries is actually somewhat higher in fat and low in sugar.

  • increases the quality of hair, nails and skin which you will especially appreciate when fighting premature signs of aging.

Usage and dosage

Even though there are available various dietary supplements in form of capsules, I would recommend puree or açaí powder. You can simply mix it with plain yoghurt, add it to your smoothie as well as to the water.
It will always taste great.
